A beautiful story about love and faith, Though None Go With Me, based on the novel by Jerry B. Jenkins, gives a good example of strong faith within an enjoyable story.

A film about faith, loss and love, Though None Go With Me, by RHI Entertainment, is a movie that touches hearts and lives with its story and its message. Starring Amy Grabow, Cheryl Ladd, Brad Rowe and David Norona, Though None Go With Me is based on the novel drama by Jerry B. Jenkins, co-author of Left Behind, and gives an example of a life of faith and love.

A Sweet Love Story

Elizabeth Leroy (Amy Grabow) is a girl in 1951 who only wants escape from the small town of Three Rivers to see the world. She meets and falls in love with a devoted minister, Ben Philips (Brad Rowe), who is new to town, and her world in Three Rivers begins to change. When Ben leaves for the Korean War as a chaplain, leaving her a promise of marriage, Elizabeth is heartbroken, but remains strong for the events that follow.

The film follows the events of Elizabeth’s life that test her faith and build her inner strength. Elizabeth becomes an example to readers and to the film’s audience of someone who can learn to put their trust in God and be a good influence to others to do the same.

“Though None Go With Me, Still I Will Follow”

Though None Go With Me tells not just a love story, but a story about following God and having faith that His will is for good. The film’s adage is based on an old hymn, “I Have Decided to Follow Jesus,” as the third stanza says, “Thought none go with me, still I will follow.” From this stanza also comes the title of the novel and the film.

Elizabeth’s life changes dramatically while Ben is gone, but she holds on to the commitment she made to following God no matter where He leads. When the events in her life do not follow the way she imagined it or planned for it, she still holds on to the faith she has. Her steady faith is an example and an encouragement to believers who live through hard times, whose plans are not always realized the way they imagine or who simply need inspiration. It is an encouragement also to keep that faith even if others do not.

Though None Go With Me is a touching story and an uplifting film about faith and love. Adapted from the novel by Jerry B. Jenkins, it is an enjoyable movie of a well-loved book.
